The Lucado Life Lessons Study Bible, NKJV by ‘Max Lucado’

The Lucado Life Lessons Study Bible has come out in New King James Version with scintillating features like life lessons, devotional bible studies, topical articles, reading plan, etc. Max Lucado has written the applications all throughout this Bible. Being the best-selling author and writer and preacher at Oak Hills Church in San Antonio of Texas, Max Lucado does a splendid job of explaining the truths from the various books of Bible. He has worked hard to give a comprehensive treatment to his work and it is evident from this Bible.

This Study Bible is flooded with information like 2 Year Devotional Reading Program, ‘Where to turn When…’ Index, ‘The Big Picture’ 30 Day Reading Plan, Spiritual Growth Verses, New Believer Studies, ‘He did this just for you’ Verses, ‘New Life in Christ’ articles, ‘Christ Through Bible’ messages, etc. All these tools are highly informative and helpful to anyone reading the Bible. One most attractive factor is that the applications spelt in the Bible by Lucado are based on sound biblical principles and values.

The Bible has come out as a hard bound edition and is easy to handle by the users. The fonts relating to the commentary of Lucado are slightly smaller than the optimum size. The same could have been made in normal font size which is used for bible verses in this edition.

I highly recommend this Bible for anyone who wishes to learn from the Bible and implement and practice those biblical principles in their life.

I give this one five out of five stars.

Please note that I received this book from Book Sneeze in exchange for an honest review.

Why do I read a lot?

Reading is one of my favorite activities. I love reading. I spend a lot of time reading in a day. I make conscious efforts to allocate time for reading.

Suddenly, one fine day I wondered why I should be reading in my life. What is the purpose of reading? Does it serve any benefit at all to me? Do I gain anything from reading?

I had some deep thinking within me and was able to arrive at a certain conclusion. I would like to share the same with you and specially, in the words of a great personality.

I read because…..

“We seem to have an incurable fear of ideas and tend to translate issues into a knee-jerk reaction, reducing all reflection to mere emotion. Since we do not read, the education of our sympathies and perceptions is left to what is accidentally supplied by people in our immediate circle. When we read, however, we learn to rise above the confines of our immediate environment. From those heights we get a broader view of the human experience, of history, of how others have tackled problems that beset us. We may not grow wiser as a consequence, or happier, but we learn to become more tolerant. We are never the same again.

It is a matter of fulfilling our capability and potential. ………….. We are the only species in the world with a developed and reflective intelligence. One of the great rewards of that intelligence is language; and one of the greatest gifts from our ancestors is the discovery of writing. To be human is to read.

–- As written by Gurucharan Das, Former CEO of Proctor & Gamble India in his book, ‘The Elephant Paradigm’.

I need no more words to describe better the objective of reading in my life.

Do you read? If so, why do you read what you read? I would love to hear from you. You can post your response through comments.
